Plasma cytokines and APPs assay

The bovine-exclusive ELISA kit was used to measure the concentrations of plasma IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8 and TNF-α. The bovine ELISA kits were purchased from Shanghai Sinobest Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (Shanghai, China). APPs including LPS-binding protein (LBP),haptoglobin (Hp), serum amyloid A (SAA) and C-reactive protein (CRP) were determined using the bovine ELISA kits purchased from Shanghai Jinma Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (Shanghai, China). The determination was conducted according to the manufacturer’s instructions. All samples including the standards were tested in duplicate, and the optical density values were read on a microplate reader (Bio-Rad, xMarkTM, USA) at 450 nm.
